Welding process

Welding process

The most important issue in welding is how to ensure the ratio of ferrite and austenite phases in the welded joint, thereby ensuring the corrosion resistance and mechanical properties of the joint. Therefore, the development of the welding process is centered around how to ensure the ratio of its two-phase structure. When the amount of ferrite and austenite is appropriate (the optimal value of ferrite is 45%), the performance is close to that of the base material. If the deviation of the structure ratio is relatively large,The corrosion resistance and mechanical properties (especially toughness) of steel welded joints will decrease. Too low ferrite content (<25%) will lead to reduced strength and reduced resistance to stress corrosion cracking; too high ferrite content (>75%) will reduce corrosion resistance and impact toughness.
