Special Requirements for Welding Equipment for CO2 Arc Spot Welding

Special Requirements for Welding Equipment for CO2 Arc Spot Welding

The arc combustion process of CO2 arc spot welding is not essentially different from that of general CO2 gas shielded welding. The particularity of the CO2 arc spot welding process is that the welding gun does not move during the combustion process. Therefore, spot welding equipment is required to accurately control arc spot welding time and a certain wire burnback time. The function of welding wire burnback is to prevent the welding wire and solder joints from sticking together. However, if the burnback time is too long, the size of the molten droplet at the end of the welding wire will increase rapidly, which is equivalent to increasing the diameter of the welding wire, making it difficult to start the next arc, and causing large particle spatter. The burnback time can be determined by testing according to the specific welding conditions.
