TIG welding
MIG (Metal Injection Gas) welding is an arc welding method using non-consumable tungsten electrodes. During GTAW welding, the welding zone is shielded from atmospheric pollution by a shielding gas (commonly inert gases such as argon), and filler metal is usually used; however, this step can be omitted for some self-fluxing welds. During welding, energy is provided by an electric arc that conducts highly ionized gas (i.e., plasma) and metal vapor, serving as a constant current welding power source.
